TheBeginerz For those of you familiar with the chart-bothering duo they need no introduction, but for those who are not, here goes. The Beginerz are Def-e AKA Ewen MacNeil and Ibi Tijani. Previously, Ewen had high profile releases on Toolroom Records, Low Pressings and Ocean Trax while Ibi worked with Faithless as an assistant engineer on their first 2 albums. After meeting in 2002 the pair crashed onto the scene at the legendary Miami Music Conference with their first combined creation 'Reckless Girl'. The prestigious Cheeky records (BMG) picked up 'Reckless Girl' and the U.K public placed it at a very respectable number 28 in the U.K charts. It also enjoyed similar successes throughout the rest of the world. Four new Beginerz singles quickly followed. "History" enjoyed massive club support and again was picked up by BMG and also fledgling label DTPM, "Doin' me wrong" was picked up by Oxyd Records placed at No.1 in the DJ Magazine Hype Chart and was licensed throughout the world. The third "Everybody Knows" picked up support from Radio 1's Judge Jules and the fourth, "New York Taxi" (signed by Sole Music) also placed at number 1 in the hype chart solidifying The Beginerz position as fore-runners in their genre. With the international success of all of their productions, The Beginerz were also asked to add their remix touch to the likes of The Shapeshifters, Mousse T, Faithless, Dido, INXS, Nina Simone, Apollo 440, Supafly, Bini and Martini and the mighty Mint Royale. In the last year, there has been no let up in their productions, they have released tracks on "Toolrooom Trax" (titled 'Wipe those tears away'), Nic Fancuilli's "Deleted" imprint (‘Rhythm Foundation’),"SR2" (‘On the Block’), "Nocturnal Groove" (‘Love me more’), “Kidology” (‘Music Harmony’), “Soul Love” (‘Changes’) as well as numerous releases and remixes on their on label Wax Habit. 2007 sees a slew of new productions lined up. They have already signed records to Nocturnal Groove (‘All I need’). G-Club (‘Ape Stalking’) and Tested (‘Good times’) as well as a new remix of Reckless Girl ready to do Worldwide damage. As well as the many productions The Beginerz (together and individually) are highly in demand as DJs and are consistantly booked by the biggest and best clubs in the world. The last year alone has seen them visiting various clubs in Russia, China, Egypt, Dubai, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland, Thailand & Ukraine, as well as playing at such high profile UK clubs as Ministry of Sound, Fabric, The Key, Turnmill's and The Egg.
