DaisyHeartbreaker Agent : Daisy Quin Biography Guardian Guide – “Ibiza’s indie pioneer”
From Mexico to LA, from the Hollywood Hills to Ibiza Town, this exotic rock chick is like a Rolling Stone, crossing borders with her unique female DJ attitude. Daisy arrived in Ibiza in 2002 when most people believed and behaved as if only house music ruled the waves of the White Island. Daisy delivered a humble but pioneering sound for the new Millennium, playing alternative indie mixed with Britpop and old school rock. The first to embrace emerging guitar sounds from the UK and LA, she became a beacon for alternative sounds on the island long before Pete Doherty turned up and Ibiza went Ibiza Rocks! In 2007, Daisy Heartbreaker’s focus was to tear up the rule book in the UK with her IndiePunkRockAlternativeNight ‘Love & Rock Hits’. She has a strong reputation in the capital following her work in the Balearics and her guest spots with Rob da Bank’s Sunday Best and Bestival empire. In 2007, she launched the after-work social ‘High Voltage’ at the Sun & 13 Cantons in Soho. The concept was inspired by the new rave, glam rock and indie-electronica sound of now. Tthe gathering was free and supported by Red Stripe. Daisy Heartbreaker is also a regular at the Jamm in Brixton, warming up for the indie fraternity’s DJ converts including members of Oasis, Stone Roses and New Order. Recently, Daisy took her around England & Scotland for Mexican drink brand Sol’s Sol-Set gigs, sharing the DJ Booth with Unabombers, Rob da Bank, Pete Gooding & the Supafly Collective. At the end of September ‘07 when the closing parties of Ibiza were over, crazy Daisy went back to keep the island rockin' and re-launched her party Rock Nights at El Club with the promise of a monthly episode throughout the winter. It was a real success and the converted Rock Nights audience wanted more. After the winter episode she started to get offers from clubs, bars and other venues’ owners and promoters to “officially” launch her Rock Nights in the summer party scene at any of these places. She planned her next Summer 08’s assault on people’s senses with her renewed Rock Nights “arty-party”, only 5 special dates during the season which are offering a mix of indie, alternative, rock, punk and her “rocktronica” sound mixed with the attitude of her hot Latin blood, Guest DJs & Art Shows. The first 3 events happened at the new Ibiza Rocks Hotel with pre-parties at the Ibiza’s west end “indie temple” Ground Zero. Throughout the Summer 08, Rock Nights has seen live bands, DJs, Visual Art and more in its multidisciplinary space offering it to the artists to support & promote the local & international talent and great bands like Hungover Stuntmen, OK Tokyo, Underground Heroes and more. Since its opening night Daisy and her “arty party” have been under the spotlight of the local and international Media because Rock Nights is a unique vision of bringing music, art and party together.
