Biography
Singer songwriter Dot Allison founded the band One Dove in 1991. They played Top of The Pops and achieved chart success both in the UK and America the song ‘White Love’ reached No. 6 in the US dance charts in 1993.
After 6 years Dot left One Dove to pursue a solo career, signing with Heavenly Records in 1997 and releasing the critically acclaimed 'AFTERGLOW' which went to No. 1 at College radio across America. In 2000 signed to Mantra Records / Beggars Banquet and released 'WE ARE SCIENCE' co-produced by Dave Fridmann to rave reviews
In 2007 released on Cooking Vinyl Records ‘EXALTATION OF LARKS’ produced by the legendary KRAMER (Blondie, Daniel Johnson)
Credits and Collaborations
- Wrote ‘Did I Imagine You?’ and ‘By Myself’ with Hal David lyricist partner of Burt Bacharach
- Collaborated on Afterglow with Mani Mounfield (Stone Roses) and Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine)
- Sang ‘Dirge’ for Death In Vegas. The song became the theme of an international Levis campaign and was featured on the sound tracks of 'The Black Dahlia' and 'Blair Witch 2'
- Wrote and performed on the song 'Diving Horses' on the next Death In Vegas LP 'Scorpio Rising' alongside Liam Gallagher, Paul Weller and Hope Sandoval.
- Wrote the song 'Distractions' on the Zero 7 LP Simple Things.
- Toured with Massive Attack on two year International ‘100th Window Tour’ singing lead vocals and playing guitar with the band for part of their set and performing her own acoustic solo set as the supporting act for the entire tour.
- Composed and performed the song 'Aftersun' with Massive Attack for the Luc Besson movie 'Danny the Dog'
- Co- wrote 4 songs for the Babyshambles with Pete Doherty and joined the band to perform the songs with Pete on 'Bilo Albion Tour' 2004
- Joined Babyshambles on the 3 week full band 'Stone Me What A Life' Tour in 2004. As a band member joining them for 6 songs mid-set and as a solo support act
- Recorded a duet with Bobby Gillespie of the Scottish band Primal Scream.
- Wrote/ sang Colour Me featured in the No 1 Box Office hit movie 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall'
- Nov 08 – Barbican Theatre – performance – Tilting + Drifting – The Songs Of Scott Walker
- Featured vocalists on new Chris Smith horror film ‘Triangle’
- Co-Wrote/duet with Peter Doherty – ‘Sheepskin Tearaway’ on his Debut solo album – Grace/Wastelands

Dot is currently nearing completion of her new album, ROOM 7 ½, co-producing with Rob Ellis who co-produced the Mercury Award Winning, twice Grammy nominated 'Tales From The City, Stories From The Sea' for PJ Harvey. The album, featuring James Johnston, Terry Edwards + Mick Harvey, mixed by Head. Includes ‘Love’s Got Me Crazy’ a co-written duet with Paul Weller and two of the Peter Doherty collaborations, 'I Wanna Break Your Heart' + ‘Portrait’. Supporting + guesting with Peter Doherty – Grace Wastelands Tour – March 2009.
