NadiaKsaiba
Nadia Ksaiba is one of UK's most unique new DJ talents. At a time when everyone and their dog are hitting the decks, and
quality control levels are at an all-time low, Ms Ksaiba's here to remind people how it's done. Renowned for a flawlessly mixed,
dancefloor-igniting concoction of electro house and techno, she's emerging as one of the few new superstar DJs in-the-making.
As one quarter of legendary London night And Did We Mention Our Disco (alongside Rory Phillips, Den Odell and Glyn), she's
been championing new dance music for five years now, moulding the Capital's scene into what it resembles today. The night, has become one
London's most talked-about nightspots, but has also managed to retain an essential sense of artistic integrity. While above all, Our Disco
revolves around a total party ethic, it's fuelled by a true connoisseurs soundtrack. As well as being the first night to have ever brought
the Ed Banger, Gomma and DFA record labels to British soil, they remain the only selectors to have filled in at Scotland's world famous
Optimo night, and have featured guests slots from 2Manydjs, Erol Alkan, Tiefschwarz, Justice, Chromeo, Hot Chip, Mylo and many more.
Away from Our Disco, Nadia's always kept herself more than busy. She started as she meant to go on, her first gig saw
her transforming a bar without a dancing license into a frenzy of flailing limbs. By gig four she was supporting 2manydjs at Arthur Baker's
Return To New York night, and it wasn't long before she'd be saving the day by filling in for New Order's no-show at Manchester's Sankey's
Soap. Word was spreading very fast indeed, and soon she'd find herself a regular welcome guest at pretty much every night worth playing,
including Bugged Out, Fabric, Adventures In The Beetroot Field, Optimo, and Radio Soulwax, as well as being Trash's last ever guest DJ.
She garnered fans left right and centre, touted for great things by luminaries like Erol Alkan, 2manydjs, and Soulwax. And as the UK
began to turn neon, who else would neu rave's pioneers Klaxons choose to drag away on tour with them but Ms Ksaiba – with a regular deck
partnership struck up between herself and ringleader Jamie Reynolds under the title Klaxons DJ Wrecking Crew. Guest spots have taken her
all around the world with personal highlights including Australia, Thailand, Spain, Sweden, Italy, France, Germany, and Portugal, sharing
the bill with the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Erol Alkan, 2manydjs, Glimmers, Tiga, DJ Hell, Arthur Baker, Tom Tom Club, Uffie, Justice,
Black Srtobe, Junior Vasquez, Marshall Jefferson, Tiefschwarz, T.Rauschmeire, Optimo, JoJo De Freq, to name a few. She's always managed to
tear the roof off both the cliqueist of hipster haunts and geekiest of muso dives with equal ease.
Nadia is nostalgic about the role of the DJ. Although she wholeheartedly supports new technologies, she misses the time
before blog-saturation, when you could rely on your disc jockey to possess head-spinning skills and to unearth tunes you didn't hear at
every other night, a time when you could turn to them in your hour of need as a guiding light. And with a truly inspiring reputation in
both the talent spotting and mixing departments, and an insane CV that's growing by the second, there really is no better candidate to
bring back the good old days than her dear self.
